Jacob's injury

Well yesterday was an exciting day in the Nast household. We had our first ER visit with the boys (we were there a few weeks ago with Josh). Ben was having a rough day was got very frustrated with his train track. The train track went flying in the air and hit poor little Jacob in the nose. Here is the piece of the train track that hit Jacob.

That huge piece of track could have taken out Jake's head. We are so blessed that it just split his nose. Josh came home from work, Mom came to get Ben and Amy came to get Dalton so that Josh and I could take Jacob to the ER. I was pretty certain that he would need stitches. When I was first trying to clean up the blood I saw part of the skin was detached from the rest of the nose. Somehow that train track split all the way through his nose. Jacob did indeed need stitches. He has 3 on the outside and 2 on the inside. The doc's don't predict much scaring and even if there is some it will be so small once his nose is grown up size. Jake was such a trouper through the whole thing. He was smiling at us and laughing before it was done. Since he is so small and they were working on his face they had to sedate him for the procedure but for only about 20 minutes. He was super tired when he finally work up since he entirely missed his morning nap.

Here is a picture of Jacob when we got home from the hospital.

Here are a few pic's of his stitches this AM

I love that last one it is like he was looking up so that I could get a good shot so that he could make sure he got lots of sympathy :)

Ben and some Trees, Jacob and some cereal

Two days ago we went swimming at the Brands house. It was so much fun and Ben had lots of fun being in the water again. It had been 6 months since he had been in a pool so he was a little nervous at first but he remembered quickly. Anyway, while we were there Charlie (the little boy Meg babysits for) had to go to the bathroom and decided to go in the bushes. Ben kind of overheard our conversation and saw what was happening. Later on we were at Gigi's house and Ben was suspiciously over in the bushes he was going pee pee in the bushes the only problem was that he forgot to pull down his pants first :)

We decided to give Jacob some cereal last night after we were done with dinner. I am not sure it is going to be a regular thing since he was super fussy afterwards. Anyway here are some pictures.

Nanna's

Well tonight we went over to Nanna's house (Josh's Grandma's) and went out for some dinner when we got back to her house she told Ben that before we went upstairs she had to get the mail. Ben said "oh, can I help you?" He then looked down and said "I have pants on" So, here is a little background info. Just about everyday Ben wants to go outside and get the mail with me. About 9 out of 10 times he does not have pants on (it is an on going issue at our house) and so I tell him, "Ben you can't help me get the mail because you don't have pants on please stay inside"

On the way home Jacob was crying and Ben was asking Josh and I what was wrong with him. We told him that Jacob was probably tired and hungry and his tummy hurt. Ben said "I think that he has poopy and peepy in his diaper and that is why he is crying"

The things that Ben comes up with make us laugh all the time, I hope they make you laugh too.

lots of updates and pictures

Here are some updates on the crazy life at the Nast house.

Jacob

Jacob is not a very good roller he can roll both directions and from back to tummy and tummy to back. he scoots all over the place and can get his knees under his body. I am not praying for him to be an early crawler or walker however. it is nice to have one stationery child.

When He sleeps he usually ends up on his side with his hand together like this picture. I kind of think that it looks like he is praying which is super cute!

I posted the other day about how rolly he is getting. Here is a good pic. of some of his rolls! It is really easiest to see how rolly he is when his diaper is off but I didn't think that was Internet appropriate :)

He is so good at holding his head up and is smiling so much more than before

We also took out the exersaucer. I kind of though that Jake would be too small for it still but he is not. He loves it. he reaches and grabs for the toys and can turn himself all the way around in a circle on it. It is amazing to see his little mind working and how much he has developed over the past 4 months.

Benjamin
Ben has had some very crazy comments lately. This first comment I am not very proud of but he said it anyway.

I was doing laundry and my little shadow was following me down the stairs. When we got done there Ben saw that I had left one of the lights on from the previous time we were down stairs and said, "Oh Crap mommy you left the light on" I guess I need to be more careful about what I say around Ben :) I told him that was rude and he shouldn't say that but at first I kind of laughed so then he kept saying it because he thought it was funny.

Later in the day I heard him talking to Dalton telling him that he shouldn't say something because it was rude. I don't remember exactly what Dalton was saying but whatever it was, was not rude at all.

Yesterday Ben and Dalton were playing so nicely. They made this huge line of car's and dino's. They were very proud of it and asked me to take a picture so here it is. I thought it was interesting how they filled in all the spaces with cars so that there was no carpet showing at all. most of the cars are facing forward but there are a few sideways so as to not leave a space in the line.

During the time that the boys were playing with the cars I was prepping Ben that he was going to go play with Opi as soon as Dalton got picked up so that Mom and I could go dress shopping again. Well as soon as Amy got here to pick up Dalton he looked at his mom and said "I want to go to Opi's house" it was rather cute and showed how much fun kids have with my dad :)

Jacob

Jacob has a cold today so I took him into the Doc. I was in shock when they weighed him and told me that he was 14.8. I had them do it again because I didn't believe them. 3 weeks ago he was 13lbs so he has gained a ton of weight in the last three weeks. I think that puts him in the 50% percentile for weight if I read the chart correctly :) He has had amazing weight gain considering he started at 1 month in the less that 10% category.
I will have a more specific update on him next Monday as he has his 4 month well baby visit
