Getting closer

We are finally getting to a point where we are feeling moved in and much more comfortable. Actually last night I kind of thought things were looking good. I have yet to hang a picture on a wall but that will come later.

Zoo Boo

Last night we went to the Zoo Boo. It is always lots of fun and so cute to see all the other little kids all dressed up. Jacob was going to be a monkey this year but we can't seem to find the costume. I did however find the turtle costume that has never been worn (by us at least). Ben was a bat. He has had a little bat obsession ever since we visited the bat zone at Cranbrook (several times). He looked very cute and I was happy that I could put him in a babyish costume for one more year. As we were leaving the Zoo Ben remembered that bat's were nocturnal so he could stay up all night (at least that is what he thought)

Of course when we got there we realized that I had forgotten to put the memory card back in my camera. Oh well the pictures from my phone turned out well.

Jacob loves to push the stroller. The problem is that he never goes in a straight line and it takes him forever. He was also waddling quite a bit with the big costume on.

My men :)

The bat with the pumpkin dino's

The little turtle who would stop every five seconds and look at something and say WOW. It was very cute

Our New House!!!!

Here are some before pictures of our house. We will have some after pictures soon. The new carpet is coming tomorrow. It has been a whirlwind of painting and other misc. repair projects that have had to be done.

This is the dining room. We still need to paint it again because of a mysterious paint bubbling issue we were having. (notice the lovely pink carpet that will be gone soon)

Here is Ben showing off his artwork in Jacob's room/the Baby's room. It was painted in Camo previously. We just did two coats or primer until we find out if baby number 3 will need a pink room or a blue room.

This is the living room. The only room in the house that did not receive a paint job. It will be getting new carpet tomorrow

Here are the boys coloring at the kitchen table. They spent a lot of time in those plastic chairs for the first week. The room behind is our family room.
The Living room
This is the guest room. Notice the lovely green carpet (also will not be so green tomorrow :)
Here is our laundry room. It is one of my favorite characteristics of the house. I love having a first floor laundry. I still don't love doing laundry however
Dad and Josh painting our closet
Here is Ben's room. It is a very cute green with big bunk beds. He wants me to paint it like a jungle however. We will see if that happens.

The Apple Orchard

I have been really behind on posts lately. I suppose I have a good excuse being that we just moved (finally) and have been doing lots of work on the house, well and I guess I can use my pregnancy excuse as well.

On October 1st, Ben's school went to the apple orchard. It could have been a really fun trip but it was so cold and no one was prepared for the unbearably cold weather. We did get to ride in a wagon out to the orchard where they had dwarf trees. It was very fun for all the kids to be able to pick their own apples and put them in the bag.

After the apple picking we hurried home so that I could meet Josh to close on the new house. Around 11:00 the day of closing Josh got a phone call that we could close but would not be able to get the key because we still didn't have final word from GMAC (we were scheduled to close at 2:30). Well Mom called Uncle Dave and he did tons of work for us. When we finally finished the paperwork we were told that GMAC did not actually need to sign off on anything however at this point we had paperwork saying that we needed something signed from GMAC so our title company would not release the funds and therefore we still did not have the right to the keys. So we closed and didn't get any keys. It was rather disapointing. The next day however we got a call at 12:00 saying that we could pick up the keys. I think that were started working at 1:30 or so and still have not stopped :)
