Florida in Review

All in all Florida was a great trip. I am completely exhausted from the whole thing. Between the kids that would not sleep and the sun and activity I think that I need a vacation with out the kids to recover :)

The kids did amazing on the plane ride home. They were great the entire time. We left the condo at 1:00 and arrived at our house at 8:00 and I was very surpriesed at how great they were.

Not too much exciting happened on the last few days other than that Ben was super tied on Tuesday so we just took it slow in the morning and spent the afternoon by the pool. Wednesday was quite cool but we were leaving so it didn't matter at all.

Below you will see some sideshows from our trip. Enjoy :)

Day Six

I am so tired I don't know how much I will write today but I will have lots of pictures :)
Jacob is feeling much better. He was back to his happy old self.

Jakey's sun cage :0 He is so good in there but when he tries to get out he is usually able to escape and he crawls directly towards the pool.

Day five

Well no pictures from today. Here is a rundown of the day. Jacob has an ear infection (according to his Dr. mom). Thanks to our favorite ENT we were able to fill a script of antibiotics this AM at the Walgreen's on the Island :) Hopefully I will get some sleep tonight. I am not thinking that we will however. We spent the morning at the pharmacy and the afternoon by the pool. Our little fish (Ben) was swimming all afternoon. He is again tired tonight. As he is swimming he pretends to be all sorts of fish. He is an Alabama fish, a okeydokey fish, a Colorado fish, CT fish . . . He has lots of fun doing it and all of them swim differently. Some with arms some with out. Some have tails and some do not. The Alabama fish is the best and fastest fish. We will have to remind him to be an Alabama fish when he goes to Goldfish. We ate in again tonight and had a very yummy dinner.

Here is the best quote of the day: "Gigi your toenails are old"
he was looking at her feet and noticing that her "baby toe nail" was kind of long and he thought that meant that it was old :)

Day Four

Day four went very well! Mom and I finally figured out a good schedule. We put Jacob down for a nap at 10:00 and take Ben to the beach to play in the sand. We can't take Jacob to the beach to easily because he mostly just likes to eat the sand. Then we come up around 12:00 for lunch and to get Jacob who sleeps for just about 2 hours. By the time we are done with lunch we are ready to head back down by the pool. We made Jacob a little fort (mom calls it a cage) and he loves to play in it. We spent a few hours by and in the pool with both kids and then went down to the beach for some more sand time. Jacob successfully fell asleep in the stroller and we made sand castles with Ben on the beach. It seemed to work out very well. Hopefully tomorrow will be as great and we will actually get some relaxing.

We ate dinner at home on the balcony which was also much easier and very nice to be able to watch the sun set as we ate our yummy dinner that mom made for us. Ben again is super tired. I guess several hours in a pool and in the sun will do that to a kid.

A Macro sunset

As an update from yesterday neither one of my kids wanted to let me sleep. I am pretty sure Jacob has an infection of some kind. He sounds awful and is not acting himself. He was awake about every hour all night long. I guess it is not that much different from at home but he needs to learn that on vacation we need to get lots and lots of sleep :)

Florida Vacation

Day Three
So these pictures are out of order but oh well it is too much work to put them the right way. Day three consisted of lots of fun in the sun again. They boys are so tired at the end of the day.

Here is the handsome baby watching the sunset.

Here is Jacob looking at Omi drying her hair. He looks so cute.

Handsome Ben with his cute hat in front of the fish

Benjamin posing while watching the sunset.

We went to the Mariott to swim in their new cool pool. It is a pool that starts at 0 depth (walk in pool). It was a very cool pool. We will go back again when Jacob is awake.

We went to Kretches for dinner which was great but the kids were kind of crazy. It was a long day for them. They were good but they were very tired.
When we got home from out adventure Ben walked into the condo and said "I am tired, lets go to bed" I guess that is the result of a successful day :)

Marco Island Day Two
Day two started out a little overcast which was disappointing but as Pop said it would be better by noon and it was.

the highlight of day 2 was Bingo at the club at night. Grandma, Pop and I all went to Bingo. (mom stayed home with the kids). It was lots of fun. We had fish and chips and played some pretty fun bingo (don't make fun it really was a good time Meg will tell you how fun it is)

Marco Island Day One
Here is Ben on the plane with his earphones (so cute)
Both boys were excellent on the plane. They were great babies. Let's just pray that they are the same amazing kids on the way home.

A sick kid, a happy one year old and more

Ben is sick on the couch at the moment. He has the nasty cold/flu bug that is going around. In case you have not heard the symptoms let me tell you.

1. you get a very high fever and feel yucky
2. you start getting a runny nose
3. you start coughing from your chest
4. IT NEVER GOES AWAY (well that is not true it just feels like it is)

This is what our family has been experiencing this week and it is SO lovely. Ben is the sickest at the moment and I am hoping to keep Jacob somewhat healthy with lots of immunities in my breast milk somehow. Jacob has had some fevers and has even gotten a pretty high one but no runny nose or cough yet so hopefully he will be spared from the dreaded cold. He is extra clingy though so we will see :)

In other news I took Jacob to the Doctor yesterday for his one year appt. and here are his stats:

Weight: 24lbs 12oz (75%)
Length: 30in (50%)
Head Circumference: 47cm (60%)

Jacob says Dada and momomomom (but only when he wants something) and Ba for Ben. He claps a lot and loves to look at books. He is doing well with his sippy but much prefers to nurse. He really could probably walk if he wanted to but does not have much desire. He cruises around the furniture and is completely happy doing so. He is a great baby. I am so thankful that God gave him to us.

(in case you were wondering what Ben's stats were I am too. I can't seem to find his sheet from his one year visit)

Here are some funny conversations from Ben since I have not posted many lately.

*****************
Ben: "Mommy where do babies come from"
Me: not wanted to have that conversation with a 3 1/2 year old I responded: "We ask God for them" (pretty true right?).
Ben: "Oh then we should ask God for a baby sister"
Me: "that would be great you can ask God for that"
Ben: "we asked God for a baby and he gave us Jacob Timothy and sometimes we just call him Jacob or Jake"
I was pretty impressed that he got it

****************

"Mommy after we go to Florida we can get a new house but we have to not forget all my toys"

****************
That is all I can remember at the moment. More to come later
