A Successful Halloween

Halloween 2007 was a success. We didn't get a great picture of the kids together but that is near impossible to do these days so we will just be happy with what we have :) (didn't you know that all Halloween is really about is the pictures?)

Here is Jacob happily posing for the camera
And the two boys and Pop none of which are looking the right direction

Posing for a camera is really hard work according to Metro and Jacob

All ready for lots of candy :)

These shots are from Todd at the Plymouth Trick-or-Treating done yesterday with the Cole's and Omi and Opi

Fall Fun

Here are a few pictures of some fun stuff we have done this fall already
These are at the Zoo Boo they are pretty amazing looking if you ask me. It was very cool there were pumpkins decorated everywhere and there were ton's of animal looking ones

Josh and Ben raked lots of leaves the other day and Ben played in the piles

The boys matched so well today in their Halloween shirts. I just couldn't get them to cooperate in taking a picture. Maybe tomorrow since they will wear the same thing again

What to do?

I interviewed for a job at church awhile ago and didn't end up getting it. It was at that point that I also heard about the opening at the preschool and so Ben switched over to the one close to home. Well the person who got the job has basically been transfered with her family to another state. Kathy called me yesterday and offered the job to me. So what to do.

The job at church is 10 hours a week however the only time that I am required to be at church is on Thursday Am's from 8:30 until 12:00. I can take Jacob with me which just leaves the issue of what to do about Ben. My thoughts right now are that maybe Josh or I could drop Ben off at Mom and Dad's on the way to work and then mom could take him to school and maybe Nancy could take him home? and I could get him from her house after work?

My feeling this morning is that really want to make this job work. It would be a lot of fun for me and a lot less time away from the kids. I would also be able to be connected with other women in the church and have a great mentor in the process. Kathy is really interested in making sure that I am fed spiritually and making sure that my heart is in the right place as well.

So pray about this one for me please. I would like to come to some conclusion this week so that I can let Kathy know one way or another so that if I don't do it she can begin the search for another candidate.

Ben

Ben has been testing us lately. I think that the root of the problem is that he is so tired all the time because he won't sleep through the night and he will not take a nap (well and he is a sinner). Anyway, Josh and I have decided that we are going to try and put him to bed around 7:00 and then maybe he will be getting at least 11-12 hours a night (I am sure he will still wake up at 7ish). We will see how that works. Well tonight Josh is out studying and Ben has had an awful day. A day that we all really needed Josh around. Anyway, Ben was reading books in his room and got a paper cut on his finger from a book. I told him that I would kiss it to make it all better but he said "let's go to Omi's and get one of her cool band aids to put on it. they are in the new bathroom right by the back door" I told him that we had band aids here but he wanted that cool one's at Omi's house. Where he comes up with these things is beyond me. Anyway, pray for us that we can figure out the correct way to shepherd Ben at this time in his little life.

a sneak preview of what is to come!

It was such a beautiful day today so I decided to dress the boys up in their Halloween costumes and take them outside for some pictures. Here are my pumpkin and Dragon

A New Bed

So I am getting really tired of being crammed into our little home. I don't want to complain too much about it because I know that God has us still in the house for a reason. Anyway, Jacob clothes were previously all in the baskets under the changing table. Well that was not really working for us anymore since his stuff is getting bigger and it just always looked messy to me. I found a bed online that has three drawers underneath it and I decided that this would be the perfect bed for us. (it was pretty cheap too). I thought we could put Ben's stuff under the bed and Jacob's stuff in the dresser and get rid of the changing table. Well we found the bed at Wall-Mart. I really wanted the blue one but they didn't have one in the store and we would have to pay shipping to get it and this one will work :) I organized the clothes this AM and took the changing table out and the room looks so much bigger now. You can't really tell from this picture but it looks a lot better. There is also a place for Ben's books on the bookshelf behind his bed so that is nice as well.
Sorry about the green fish tank again there is something wrong with it and I have to change it at least once a week to keep it clean and I hate changing the tank :)

new outfit

Don't I look so cute?

In other notes my dad reminded me of something that he and Ben did on Friday while I was at swimming.

Dad was in process of scrapping, caulking, and painting the side of the house. Ben was insistent that he wanted to help and that he knew how to caulk. Ben was so proud of himself being Opi's helper. I guess he paints just like me and Dad because he had paint all over him at the end of the day. But there are not too many 3 year olds that know how to caulk are there?

I look . . .

Ben wore a very cute shirt that he got from Gigi to church on Sunday. When he put it on he said "I look Sharp" just as Gigi would say. He did indeed look pretty sharp in my opinion.

On Saturday night we went over to Gigi and Pop's house to help them hook up their new TV. Pop was telling Ben how he was Green (meaning that he liked State) Ben then proceeded to tell Pop that he was silver because he had a gray shirt on :)

This is a progression of how Jacob "crawls"
Step 1: Go from tummy to sitting

Step 2 Go From sitting to hands and knees
Step 3: go from hands and knees to sitting again and repeat :)
