The View from my window

The boys were "studying" this morning
Ben was studying for his coloring and Josh was studying for his exam this afternoon

This is what the "studying" looked like most of the time

A sick cat

So Carolyn was very concerned about Metro and decided to take her into the clinic for some testing. Metro has lots a lot of weight recently and looks really skinny. Anyway, Metro currently weights 4 pounds and 10 ounces. She has chronic renal failure and lots of stones. Poor kitty. They doctors put Metro on some low protein cat food as well as some meds to help increase her appetite and hopefully she will just not be in lots of pain and she will have a long time left to live. Thankfully my amazing friend is a vet and is going to help us out with all this craziness :)

Just in case anyone cares I thought of another idea for the boys for Halloween. A baseball bat and a ball or a golfer and a golf ball. I know it seems early to some of you however if you don't get costumes soon they are all sold out very quickly and then you have no more choices. It is crazy!!!

Here a some pic's of Jacob trying to crawl. I predict that he will be crawling within the next month for sure probably within the next two weeks. (sorry about the blurry pic's I am not sure what happened other than that Jacob was rocking back and forth)

I am trying so hard to move my arms and legs are just not cooperating

It is very distracting to have you taking pictures of me mommy while I am trying to learn how to crawl :)

A few Questions

So, I am trying to decide what the boys should be for Halloween. I have a pea in the pod costume that would fit Jacob I think but that is kind of boring and he can move so that is a little restrictive for him. Anyway I was kind of wanting them to be something matching like Tom and Jerry, or A money and a banana, or yoda's or something like that. Anyone have any good idea for me? (you can comment in the comment section below if you would like)

Also I am wondering if any one knows of any way that I can "back up" my blog. I would hate to lose everything if something happened to the blogger site. anyway those are my questions.

Thanks

Comparing the boys part 2

I have been asked a lot lately if Jacob looks like Ben looked. It is kind of hard to remember so I decided to line up pictures. From the pictures you can tell they are related but they really don't look all that much related. Here are the pic's Jacob is on top and Ben is below each at approximately the same age.

Boys stats

I took the boys for their well child visits yesterday and here are their stats:

Benjamin
35 lbs 90th percentile
40 inches 95th percentile
I don't remember head circumference but it does not really matter I think that he was either 46 or 48 inches though

Jacob
19.8 lbs 75th percentile
27 inches 75th percentile
44inch head circumference 75th percentile

They are both above average :)

Just in case anyone is keeping track

picture Vote

I need everyone to vote on what Jacob should wear tomorrow for his pictures.

Here is outfit number 1

and here is outfit number 2 with matching green top with hood

His next pictures will be in 3 months in November so the green outfit may still fit and he could wear it for that picture just an option

Newly organized house (probably a very borning post)

I reorganized Ben and Jacob's toys yesterday. After the big birthday things just didn't have a place anymore :) I was very excited about the new organization but my family was not exactly on the same page as me with showing their excitement so I thought I would show you :)

These baskets remained the same although the contents changed a bit. The top two are now cars. One for the "friend" cars and one for the other cars. The bottom box is for mis. toys (drum's, food, bugs . . . )

The Lincoln logs moved to the bottom basket and the top basket remained with the train

This is my favorite part. All the toys are nicely organized and not to crazily out in the open. The crayons, coloring books, sticker books and paper are in a bin and Jacob's toys are in another. The table fits perfectly in the closet which will be great for protecting or floors :)

The dino's are back in their box under the crib along with the lego's and the army guys
Teh books and puzzles are in under bed boxes that are easily pulled out from under Ben's bed

My organization has failed however with the little books. I have not thought of a place to put them and I hate to stuff them in the basement because I know they will not get read very much. They are right now stuffed in the wood end table :) If anyone has any ideas for me let me know. I would love to put them in the boys room but since they are all different sizes they just don't look that cute on a bookshelf and there really is not room to put one anyway.

So that was my new organization. Very exciting for me :) I also organized Jacob's clothes. If he stays the same size for awhile he will have quite a few fall/winter clothes of Ben's in 6/9 but I think that he will be in 9/12 before we know it which is all summer. I also decided to put all the burp clothes on the hanger behind the boys door. So that is the excitement at the Nast house

Birthday Memories

Here are a few birthday memories, if you have others email them to me and I will add them on.

Party #1
-After all the presents were open Josh was about to go outside to start grilling and Ben decided it would be a good time to try out his new bike. He then announced "come on everyone, it is time to go outside"

- Ben was quite excited about his "big cookie" and wanted to eat the entire thing by himself

-Outside Ben was practicing riding his new bike and could not understand why everyone was telling him to not ride in the street. Daddy always takes him on bike rides in the street why shouldn't he go?

Party #2
- This party has the least amount of stories since Josh was not feeling well Ben didn't add to many insightful comments and it was not a big celebration

- Ben did say after playing with his army guys for awhile that "I don't like army guys" Josh asked if he wanted him to return them and Ben said yes" He didn't really mean it as far as I know since he has played with them everyday since

Party #3
-
Josh woke Ben up first thing (7:30) to bring him some chocolate milk and a treat from Beaners. Ben was quite excited when candles came into the room on a rice crispy treat :)

Party #4
- Ben was instant that Pop gave him the bike (it was from Omi and Opi)

- Ben again was directing the group and trying to tell everyone what to do

- He decided to name all the fish that Aunt Allie and Uncle Todd got him Mimi

- Uncle Todd was spinning Ben in the back yard. I am not exactly sure what happened but Ben got really dizzy and kind of spaced out for a few min. When he was done he told Uncle Todd "that was too much spinning" yet he still wanted more

Other funny comments
- Ben keeps telling me today "ok I will do that for you Mommy" when I ask him to do something

- he told Josh tonight as he was leaving to study that Josh should study on the couch because "go tigers will miss you Daddy"
