Silly Jacob

A few weeks ago I could not get Jacob to leave his goggles on at swimming. I have been trying to get him to wear goggles because he likes to look up instead of at the bottom of the pool and I thought that goggles may help a bit. Anyway, after he got home he decided that the goggles were fun. He brought them to me and wanted them on. He left them on for almost an hour. He is such a silly little boy:)

First Day of School

Today was Ben's first day of school. He did very good and seemed to have lots of fun. He is attending preschool at our church this year. It seems to be a great program and if we ever move it will be really close to home. There are 15 kids in his class and several of them he recognizes from church/cubbies. I am very excited for him to start school again. He loved it last year so I am hoping that the trend continues. Here is a picture of him walking out the door. I could not get him to hold his bag oh well. I guess that is part of the reason why I got him a bag that would be easy for me to carry instead of a backpack this year :)

State Fair

We took the boys to the state fair on Sunday. The boys LOVE animals. It is so great to see them be so interested in things. We had lots of fun despite the VERY hot weather. I can't complain I love it that it is so warm.

Heather this picture is for you. We tried to take him home but thought it might be a little difficult to sneak a 550 turtle out of the fair :)
Jacob was fearless with the animals and was giving carrots to all of them.

Ben wanted his picture taken "riding" the horses
And since Ben did it Jacob wanted to join in the fun as well

Ben went on a pony ride at the very end of the fair. He had lots of fun. His pony decided it needed to go potty while Ben was riding which was lots of excitement for Ben. He enjoyed the ride anyway :)

Grand Prix

Ben and Josh whet to the Grand Prix this weekend. I seemed to hear much more about the bouncy things than I did about the race. I know that they did watch the race for about an hour or so. It seemed like they had tons of fun and enjoyed their time together. I also enjoyed my day with just Jacob and spent the day with Carolyn and Sarah. We had so much fun being able to talk while our kids slept :)

Birthday Party #4 (and the final one)

The Birthday parties are finally done! We had a great final party at the Nast's house. The whole family was there. We even had a Walter rep. which was great. We started the party by a trip down to the lake. Jacob could not resist the water. It was actually pretty warm for a lake. He loves to swim.

Ben thought that it would be a good idea to close his eyes before we told him he could start opening his gifts.
And the whirlwind of activity begins!!!
Ben so excited to open his gladiator costume
And a fun dino mold thing
Jacob enjoying all the activity, especially the balloons
Playing the flute (or recorder)
And a newest family member . . . Greeny a green lizard
and the bug cake
It was a fun party but I must admit I am glad that all the celebration is done. Ben needs nothing else and it is time to enjoy all the gifts :)

Birthday Party #3 (and a game)

We celebrated Ben's birthday on the actual day. It was nice to have it just be the 4 of us. We had lots of fun playing with Ben's toys and watching him enjoy himself. I still have a hard time believing that he is already four. It feels like I just had him. He is such a great boy and he has so much passion for life. I can't wait to see what the next year will hold for us.

Here is Ben playing with is new harmonica. He loves it and plays it quite well. Maybe that will be his future :)Josh got Ben a play mobile hunting set. Ben thinks it is so fun to have the hunter "shoot" the animals.

Jacob loves playing with Ben's new "cross" sticks

Ben enjoying his mic.

Jacob enjoying Ben's new mic.

Jacob enjoying Ben's birthday party (missing a shoe as always)

Today (Sunday) we took the boys to the tigers game. It was a really hot day but we had lots of fun. We had decided that we would go early and let Ben ride the rides and get his face painted if he wanted.

The boys on the Ferris wheel!

Ben getting his face painted. He was so good and sat so still!

The finished result: a blue tiger

Daddy and Jacob at his first Tigers game

The boys enjoying the game (not so much enjoying the heat however)

We got Ben this cool pennant that he could color by himself. He did a great job and was happy to show off his work.

We had a little birthday party for Ben this am.
We had lots of fun and it was a great time to let the kids run around the back yard. Here are some pictures from the morning
